This CD-ROM is an additional instructional tool to accompany the Experimental Organic.Chemistry textbook by John C. Gilbert and Stephen F. Martin. It contains interactive,spectra, tables and documents, and tutorials to aid in the understanding of spectroscopy,concepts presented in the text. The main purpose of the CD-ROM is to provide interactive spectra that can be analyzed.The CD-ROM also contains PDF format documents of Pre-labs, MSDS sheets, andTables of Compounds and Derivatives. Each of these sections are accessed through navigation buttons on the tool bar at the top of the main screen. 

Compound Database

The Compound Database section contains about 200 organic compounds and their spectra to explore interactively. To begin using this section, first click on the Choose a Compound button. A pop-up menu will appear giving a list of Functional Groups. Click once on a functional group and then click on a compound. Once a compound is chosen, four types of interactive spectra are available. The spectroscopy technique can be switched by simply clicking on its button. For each type of spectroscopy, the chosen compound and its basic structure are shown in the lower left of the active window.
